About Solar Power

Solar power is a source of energy that is generated from radiation emitted by the sun.  It is a renewable energy resource that is dependable and available practically everywhere.

Solar energy may be collected and used in a number of ways and for a number of applications.  It may be used directly, to provide light, heat, etc., or ir may be used indirectly, to produce electricity.

In supplying heat or electricity to a home or office space, solar power is generally put to work in one of three ways. 

• passive solar
• solar thermal system
• photovoltaic system
